Sri Lanka is an small island in the South Asian region,but cricket was able to popular this country all around the world.Many clever Sri Lankan cricketers became through this special gentlemens' game.Kumara Chokshananda Sangakkara is also a major player among them.He is a great batsman and a keeper all around the world.
According to the cricket analysings, this man is the greatest left handed batsman in the world.He scored more 10,000 runs in both Test and ODI cricket.Specially in test cricket,he is the Sri Lankan who scored most runs.And also Kumara Sangakka was able to score 11 double centuries and he second only for the great Australian batsman Sir Donald Bradman who scored 12 double centuries.Kumar acted as the skipper of Sri Lanka cricket team in 2009 T20 world cup and 2011 ODI world cups.These both times Sri Lanka were the runners up,because of this great captaincy.And also he is the man of the match of the final match in 2014 T20 world world cup,which Sri Lanka was the winners.
And also this is the only Sri Lankan cricketer who delivered the Colin Cowdrey Lecture.He delivered this speech in 2011.Other wise he won the Wisden Award in 2 times.
